Hand brake park light on

Wondered if anyone could help my hand brake park light won’t go off the car as been parked up a few weeks but now I come to drive it the lights on

Ant help would be appreciated

Plus I’m looking for a mod to open my 10 plate roof by the key fob any recommendations

Hi & welcome

Don’t know anything about the first question sorry

https://smarttop.uk/product/smarttop-comfort-roof-control-for-3-series-and-z4/

Smart top is an option for key fob roof opening. I do not have one but several on this forum do & will be along to either recommended or otherwise I’m sure

I think I linked the exact one you will need as long as it’s an e89 your driving

It looks like the battery has gone flat causing the electronic parking brake malfunction, the only option is to have the software updated either through a main dealer or by using a lap top and software.
Have a search for parking brake failure

And your roof should open via the keyfob without any mods.
Probably battery issues stopping it from working.

Sounds right on both counts, my battery was faulty when I bought mine, roof would not open off the key when test driving and on collection the handbrake fault occurred.

Software update and new battery cured both issues.

Should my roof open from the key fob then?

I was under the impression that the only way this could be done was with the smart top & the key remapped to allow this to happen

It should open from the fob but won’t close without a smarttop (unless you have comfort access & know a clued up coding guy)

Yes, press and hold open foe 3 sec's, initially the windows lower and then the roof should open, does not close it though, need the smart top for that

Cheers guys, I’ll try to remember that next time I drive her - although I am a few rum & cokes in as I’m watching Italy in the Euros who I’ve convinced everyone at school I’m supporting on the back of wearing an old school AC Milan top every day Italy play
