Halogen bulb gone.

My Zed's halogen has gone. Two questions, if I may:

1. The headlight has the usual condensation issues. Would this be a potential cause of the issue?

2. Is it an expensive fix? Would ideally like to take it to a good indy who could sort the condensation issue at the same time (new back cover or whatever it is...).

If you can't change a headlight bulb you really shouldn't be driving. It takes about 5 minutes if being careful.

I jack mine up to gain easier access to the inner wheelerch.

A replacement back cover should fix the condensation issue, maybe aim a hairdryer at the open access hole to dry it out before sealing it with a new cover, it's easy to do as Ben says

You'd think bmw would sell the 'seal' without having to buy the entire plastic cover, as it seems a common problem whereby the seal degrades, allowing moisture into the housing.

The seal sits in a recess, like a gasket on engine parts would (think oil filter housing gasket). I just pulled mine out a little and applied gummi pflege and it's been fine ever since.
