Halloween-

Nope not doing anything here, too old to be bothered about this stuff now. Not being a kid/not having kids = not interested.

I have however two large bags of chocolates for any little swines that dare knock at my front door.... only to enhance their barely good nature and prevent them scratching the Z as they leave... hopefully. Actually I might put the car in the garage tonight... but then something will likely fall off a shelf and dent it. Perhaps I'll just stand guard at the end of the driveway and fend them off by throwing sweets away from the car.

Actually I quite like the way they have sorted it out in the village. Parents pre-arrange trick or treating routes between them, so nobody gets bothered if they don't want to be involved.

I've hard wired my doorbell to the mains for tricks and connected my brass knocker to a claymore mine for treats.
Though to be fair most of the little scrotes don't even try my place anymore.
Baaaah Humbug!

It's my home town but although I'm long gone there's still some dodgy people down there ;)

We haven't any neighbours as very rural & on the one hand it's nice but at other houses we've lived in its good to see younger children getting dressed up & making an effort with thier parents taking them trick or treating.

God what a completely miserable night for the kids.

lol at you most of you miserable lot for not accomodating kids

i went to the shops a few days ago and bought loads of mini haribos etc. so long as the kids have dressed up and made an effort, they will be getting sweets. my parents wouldnt let me go trick or treating when i was younger so i missed out. now that im older at least i can make it worthwhile for the kids and give them something to remember when they grow older and have kids of their own :)

i have a few sweets left as i ate most of them

Envy - to be fair if the highlight of my 4 yr old's childhood was going trick or treating, I think I would have failed him somehow......

A few years ago I got a really scary mask and every time the doorbell went I'd yank the door open really fast and stick my head out the door aggressively. Scared the hell out of them, hilarious

Though I think the parents of at least one young group seriously considered battering me :P

Might look that mask out actually, wonder where it is....

Stuck on the South coast of Spain in a guarded community, so no tw*ts demanding money with menace this year.

Bit of sunbathing, few beers under the belt and dinner later in the clubhouse which is spookily dressed out as a nod towards the occasion....

Life can be tough....

a childhood is made up of a number of events not one single event. so every one you make memorable is a memory they can look back on..... i still remember the first firework show my parents took me to when i was 5. it was freezing but i loved it. it didnt cost them anything, yet it was still a memory i cherish

but hey ho, you bring up your children how you think best and if you feel that they wont enjoy trick or treating or be envious of their friends doing it, then thats your call

With two grand-daughters in the house (aged 4yrs and 18 months) I've just spent about 2 hours carving a pumpkin and putting lights inside, the two girls are already dressed up and will be out shortly. It is getting more popular than Bonfire Night and we can thank our US cousins for that. So long as its harmless it's OK.

I,l be closing the curtain,s & turning out the lights at the front / i can,t do with it or binfire night , I,ve had my kids & yes they i enjoyed it with them . I have zero interest however in doing it all again with someone else,s offspring :x

& "envy " :? you must not have or had any children :P
