I'm sat here listening to a report on BBC R2 that a mechanic has taken a customers car for fo a test drive and had been recorded doing 57mph in a 30 limit!

The car (focus St) had a major service and lots of stuff hadn't been done.

Heard the same report on R2.

Sadly i expect this happens nationwide regardless of garage, its only now that technology makes dash cams more widely used that the garages are getting caught out.

I for one always take a pic of the mileage and the rest of the car before sending it in for any work in case it comes back with any nasty surprises!

Halfords??? If you can find anyone to serve you and take your money in the shop you're doing well! Why would any private car owner take their car to them for anything other than a bulb - and I wouldn't even trust them to do that? Fleet vans maybe because they cut so many corners they can offer good service rates - but private cars! :thumbsdown:
