Booked into Halfords to have my rear brake pads changed, and apparently it’s done under scheme called “brakes for life” which means I get free rear brake pads for life on any car I own. A guy had a old jaguar when he did this and then he traded it in against a masser... Halfords still honoured the deal and replaces his discs and pads on the masser free of charge and they are dealer only items.

I guess this will work well for people who look after their car and are prepared to put the time in negotiating away every silly little thing they raise.
It's an infuriating situation to be in though, listening to someone just spout vague nonsense until you yield. Makes you feel a bit sick that it's often your granny etc in that position. :x
