Half-price halo lamps (Amazon) - Novsight H11

Just fitted these: currently half-price on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S295L4T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Nice and white, similar brightness to the OEM when looking at them at dusk (just a few minutes ago).

I put some Novasight on Berlingo, didn't work, just got stuck on full beam after a few switches from dipped.
But worked perfect on my motorbike.

Best bulb for halo's would be with led's mounted on the end pointing forward, as well as sides, as the light is focused on to a reflector at would should be the focal point, then into the light guide.

That’s for the DRLs aka Angel eyes..

Even better if you go into Protool, and wind the brightness up

CAn you post a pic so we can see the 'temp' of the light. Are they clear white or do they have a blue tint, or worse an orange one?

I'll try and remember to post one tomorrow.
They are in my opinion 'white' - definitely not orange though.

Apologies for adding a dimmer to the post... Hasn't the law changed since 2021 that retrofitted LED headlights are not road legal in the UK, and will fail an MOT?
Section 4.1.4 now states the following:
Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp. :o

I guess that depends on what is covered by headlamp?

These are the daylight running / halo lights. If the legislation covers them then it's unfortunate - ready to swap back though.

Would that mean MOT testers have a way to know if the car (any car) was optioned from factory with a particular light / lamp type?

That law only covers specifically headlamps ..it’s going to be dropped at some stage to bring UK into line with EU where E approved LED replacement bulbs are permitted..folks like Phillips and Osram supply said bulbs..

So DRLs you can fill your boots…there probably is a EU directive on them but I’ve not found that..

Not an easy pic to get but this shows it as I see it...pretty much.
Possibly slightly more blue in the photo than in reality.
