Half car cover

https://cabrioshield.com/uk/bmw-z4-premium.html Have just ordered one of these for my Zed. Any thoughts. Didn't like the idea of a full cover as others have said they can abrade the paint when they move about on the car. They are doing a 30% discount at the moment so I've taken the plunge. Haven't got a garage sadly hence the cover.

That looks nifty.
I think others who own half covers have alluded to the fact they can also cause some localised paint damage due to the magnets used. i.e. if dust/particles get trapped between body and cover where they interface, any slight movement can cause dust to interfere with the paint and cause scratches.
However, if you have a D/A I would suggest this would be a minor issue if it happens.

Mine has elastic straps front and rear and pockets that the mirrors fit into. I’m not convinced that cover would hold up too well if it gets windy. It’s also nearly three times as expensive as mine was!

If you read the details correctly the cover fits inside the door and boot shuts so it can't blow off in the wind and can only be removed by opening the doors and boot lid.

When I had a half cover with straps that tie around the wheels I found each time washing the car I'd have to polish little scratches off caused by the straps rubbing.
