Hairdressers...

It wouldn't be on my list as a replacement but I don't dislike it and it would be a nice motor to own. From what I understand its a little less sharper to drive than the Coupe as the cab weighs a tad.

And some perspective here, the worst loaner I've had was a Yugo which I crashed through the works car park barrier as the pedals were so close I hit the excelerator rather than the brake.

So stop your whingeing

Honestly, I think that looks better than the 4 series cab above. :o

Certainly better proportioned and honest shape. I'm not pretending for a split second it's a better car. Just that that shape is easier on the eye than the forced proportions of the 4 series cab.

I'm just surprised people think that of the 4 Series Cab.

The car wasn't designed as a cab. It was design to be a coupe and chopping the roof off has done nothing for it IMHO. Heavier softer and gopping. Nuff said. Just my humble two peneth.

I'm pretty sure they planned for it to be a convertible from the off, they've only been doing it for 30 years & 4 generations of the 3 series

and they're all heavy soft barges. If that's your thing. At least the last one looked nice. 8)

Lets be honest guys, 4 series > e89 any day when looking for an all-rounder.
But looking at your pics shows a good comparison, the 4-series makes you want to sit in the back (and push the front seats forward) while the zed is obviously a drivers car.

M apologies guys, I had only meant to create a light hearted post... :-)

My 320d Sport is the family car and everyone loves it. Its everything youd expect of a BMW.. The yacht was something of a surprise tbh, and the look and the drive are just not my cup of tea.

Zeds in the shop for a week so Im planning on leaving the 4 parked up unless its totally necessary.

As an aside...Its a loner through Accident Exchange.

They take over your damage claim and deal with the 'at fault' party on your behalf while giving you a car within your current car-bracket. Recommended by the BMW dealer and so far, theyve covered all the bases and taken out all the frsutrations of a claim. Even delivered the 4 and took the Zed into the body shop.

Anyway.... :-)

Let me get this right, you have had an accident and you've been supplied a car via Accident Exchange? I assume you know how much they are charging the other company for this? If not you may wish to check as if the amount is deemed 'excessive' by the 'At Fault' insurance company they may refuse to pay it and I believe that it can either become a legal matter and you could be liable?

They are also supposed to advise you to keep costs to a minimum so if you have another car you can use, then use that or if you don't need the car then advise them.

I'd hate to think after all this that you end up with a bill or further headache because you accepted a car you didn't need or want.

Is it just me, or is the 4 series dash just a mess? Horrible centre console :(

It's a bad picture. I've seen the interior loads of times at the dealers and it looks almost as good if not better than the e89.

4 serie convertible is a lovely looking car. Interior & dash is nice & modern looking.Just shows you we all have different opinions. M4 convertible for me next year.

Yep somebody is going to be pissed if they have forked out over a grand on a hire car only to find it had driven 50 miles.

I had a six month old 350 SLK through Accident Exchange for three weeks when my 11 year old S2000 rear bumper was replaced courtesy of an idiot in an E30 Cab. Fortunately, the exorbitant cost of the MB wasn't considered when they determined the cost of the claim, otherwise my car would have been written off.
I suspect that my insurance company had to pay the car hire charges as it was their poor organisation that meant that half a day's work took three weeks. The car hire charges were approaching £8k at the daily rate (but would have been half that, albeit with a £2k excess, were the car leased for a predetermined period directly from the hire company and by a private individual).

I had an Audi "we look after your accident" no fault claim some years ago - they charged an arm and a leg for the hire car, no, add a spleen into that as well!

A complete and utter rip off by the claims handling company and we wonder why our insurance premiums are so high?
It will probably make fake whiplash claims look small fry!

I should add that the hire car costs ended up in court and fortunately my side won but at a comprised cost. Had it not been a win, the small print in the agreement, which I admit to not reading at the time, said that I would have been responsible for those costs !
The morals are read the small print and don't take their hire car if you don't need it!
