Didn't take too long prep, two coats of primer, 3 coats of gloss black and two clear, all with about half hour drying time in between. Very happy with the result as this is first thing I have ever sprayed! Obviously not body shop quality but I'm very happy with the result.

Proof I sprayed it myself...

Now the de badging...

2/3 came of fine however when removing the left over glue on the driver side engine model badge looks like some very bad scratches/discolouration? I have tried t/cut and auto glym polish, also with very fine wet and dry with still no luck any ideas?

Before and after on the good side (passenger)

Really pissed off about this as other than this car looks sweet :headbang:

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Oh and also found out my engine light was an O2 sensor all being replaced under warranty...

very careful wipe with 1200 wet and dry followed by a quick spray of clear lacquer then rubbing down with renovating polish.

if you are brave enough.

Try some G3 compound with cotton wool and some water to polish up what looks like just scratches to the lacquer.

That's a good start

+1 on the Farecla G3 scratch remover. Their products are used by a friend who works for VW body shops and I've had great results since. Invest in a roll of mutton cloth as well...Halfords stock for a couple of quid and it's great for applying compounds.

I had some spare time too...full wash, clay bar, polish and then wax, and inside cleaned and tidied.

Makes the car go faster when the paintwork is like glass :driving:

I can't decide whether to gloss black my grills or stay chrome. I wrapped them in carbon fibre but wasn't sure so took it off again

Halfords stock G3 last time I looked.
+1 DO NOT respary or use wet or dry, simple elbow grease and the above product then polish afterwards will remove your school boy errors mate

hmm took my car to halfords and the fella had a look said the G3 wouldnt work ? as it looks like its under the clear coat ? HELPPPPP :headbang:

As Jonny Essex said, try POLISH, not wax, but proper polish. If that fails then try scratch remover. Importantly get one that is colour laden i.e. grey. They are available in various colours and can work extremely well. Even the bog standard Meguiars can do a good job. Also don't underestimate the liberal application of elbow grease - before you start to go down a more drastic route!
