nipped in supermarket & returned to the car to find a couple studying my Zed . neither had ever seen one before & the guy had been considering a 3 series coupe but was really taken with the hatch :) .
he had a good look in boot & inside while i filled him in on the engine choices . I e 3.0 or M .
always happy to enlighten folks to the virtues of the Zc

Did he ask why you had bought one with a roof?? :poke: :)

Nice when your car is appreciated

You must get lots of use out of your soft top in kingston on hull

its strange that it was only a few days back i removed the Z4 from the tailgate .
he was surprised when i told him what the car was & hadn,t realised it was the proper adult version of the Z4 roadster 8)

tailgate ? hatch ? potato ? patato ? the hatchback comment was actually made by the guy himself . other than the compact he wasn't aware BMW had done such a car . very useful he thought
now don,t get touchy cause its coming to the time of year when you lose sleep over your canvas roof & mechanism deteriorating & wishing you had bought a hard top before they doubled in price on ebay

mr wilks, I was just :poke: ... And of course I have no worries about my roof as it is now fixed - yay !

I do fancy a hard top, just got nowhere to store it when it's off...

I get it all the time round York, the coupes are quite rare cars & not alot of people seem to know what they are.

Its a good feeling but does occasionally attract some wierdos!

Came out of our local garage supermarket not long after I had the zed and an elderly lady was looking at it.
As I approached she obviously didn't realise it was mine, she said, 'Beautiful car isn't it?'
'Yes it certainly is' I replied
'Yes' says she, 'but why would anyone buy a bmw in that colour?'

Bitch.

Should have seen her face when I said it was mine. Couldn't get rid of her for the next 15 minutes. She was falling over herself to apologise!

Bitch.

cars can have that effect .
a good while back my parents were in a lake district car park in their 5 series . boot up they were sorting their walking gear when 2 cars tried to get in the same spot , the tussle was won by a BMW & a lady walking past my parents saw it all & said " bloody typical BMW drivers . they're all the same . think they own the world "
apparently her face turned crimson when my dad dropped the boot down & said " not all of us " :P
