Had a meeting with my concrete fence post !

early sunday morning i removed the car from its showroom to move it to the left hand side of the drive to enable access to the garage due to landscaping the front garden all weekend, heard a scrape !.

Not quite as bad as i thought once i got the autoglym paint renovator on it, but needless to say it bugged me all day. i even kept looking at it to see if it magically had disapeared.

i know its no way as bad as the recent vandal damage posted on here, but its really bugging me especially when the rest of the car is in 'as new' condition. there are scrapes to the bumper and a slight scrape to the very corner of the wing?

Any ideas on how much this stupid mistake is likely to cost me?

This is why BMW need to fit parking sensors to the front rather than the rear of Z4s.

That's almost identical to my damage (apart from the wing itself which requires replacing & blending in to the door). So if I remove those other elements from the BMW estimate I have, it comes to...sorry can't tell you as they haven't itemised it enough

£80 - £150 from an independent bodyshop. Don't go for a mobile operator - they can't match the paint properly in daylight, and there's not enough control over the environment. The place I go to costs £95 for a part bumper or £130 for a full - flat cost - they have their own paint shop and do a fantastic job (I've had to use them too many times, so I've had enough experience with them). A friend used a mobile one on his Boxster, metallic silver like mine and they did a rubbish job - lookd ok to start with, but when the light changed he realised the match was terrible.

Afraid I can't help you with anyone near you - the only good place I know up North in is Macclesfield, otherwise I'm in the South.

They will as an option.

I didn't notice a front PDC option on the Z4 options list. I hope you don't mean that number-plate surround monstrosity :o

Where abouts in the south do you know?

Recent vandal damage?

Still sucks for you though - but considering it was a concrete post I guess it could have been worse!

AG Paint renovator brave man Easty.

Feel your pain mate i get the hump when i find a new stone chip :x

The nick on the wing looks very small so thats a bonus they should easily make that dissapear and i would be tempted to go for a full respray on the front bumper unless yours is chip free.

Would not have thought anymore than around £300 for a good job but thats prices down this way.

how about getting a company like chips away have a look at it?

Wont be 100% but not as bad as it currently looks.

In the midlands a full front bumper spray will be around £150-£200

Mobile guys can be very good. To just dismiss all of them on one guys performance is ridiculous.

I have seen some bad and some excellent results from mobile paint guys. Its all about recomendation. :)
