I was travelling on an A road today behind a horsebox doing about 50 mph, as the road opened up I began to overtake, the car behind me followed suit, however my car lost all power, couldn't get past the horsebox, couldn't get back in either as there was not only the car behind but traffic behind that too, I had to stay on the side I was and Coast to a stop, fortunately there was no oncoming traffic.
I switched the car off, RR Evoque, and restarted, EML was on but I managed to cross the road and into a layby a hundred metres or so up the road.
Called Landrover assist and a guy came to me about 1 1/2hrs later.
I explained what had happened and he asked me if I'd filled up with fuel, yes I had, 10 mins earlier, he then said it'll be your fuel filter, sure enough it was blocked, he said it's the bio additive in the fuel that causes filter blockage, fuel manufactures are allowed to put in upto 10% but many put more in, I fill up at my local Texaco garage as I have a fuel card, he said it's more prevalent with Supermarket fuels, the Fuel filter and Diesel will be sent off for analysis, he said many vehicle manufacturers are complaining to the fuel companies as this happens frequently, I was on the A614 Blythe road heading towards Clumber Park for those who know the area, it's a quick road with long straights, pleased no one was coming the other way......
Here's a pic of the Diesel, doesn't look right to me, he said it should be an amber colour, as if you'd not had a pee for a while.
