H7 LED Bright White Bulb Recommendations

On my previous Z4 I installed these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headlight-Bulbs-Lumens-12-24v-Canbus/dp/B083QP3RLV

Want to do the same upgrade to my current Z4. They were brilliant but I can't find them in stock anywhere and I know there's a massive variation in quality of bulbs, seems a bit of a minefield. Can anyone recommend some bulbs they've purchased themselves that don't bring up any CANBUS errors? Just after a bright white light.

Thank you.

I used Osram LEDriving. However, I think I had to code out the CANbus flicker test.

Hi
Have a look on here ...
https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/
I have xenons in my zed so no need to change them, however I have fitted Philips H7's in my Transit Custom which has a very fussy canbus system and I don't get any errors and they are bright and white

Thank you very much. The H7 Philips Ultinon Pro9000 LED Headlights look excellent and just what I'm after but price is horrendous! Will have a good look across the website though cheers.

Ive recently installed these which came out top on this guys test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1L_aFGjmSI

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bevinsee-Headlight-15000LM-Kit-VC-Cooling/dp/B089Y37CYW/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3U7NEJITKF7PQ&keywords=bevinsee%2Bh7%2Bled%2Bheadlight&qid=1638466722&s=automotive&sprefix=bevin%2Cautomotive%2C154&sr=1-3&th=1

Can be got cheaper on aliexpress if you want to wait on shipping.

Made a decent improvement over the nighteye LED's I had in before.

From memory the Philips ones don't have a separate driver unit , its all built into the bulb so there are no bulky units to try and wedge into the back of the headlight.

They look ideal, more the price I was expecting to pay and closer to what I paid last time. The last ones were excellent quality and very bright, comparable to modern xenons so it shows they can be had for that money. As they’re on Amazon easy to send back if there’s an issue too. Thank you.

Don’t suppose you have a link to the bulb holders you purchased? I had a bit of trouble with that last time and had to modify some that were close but not quite right, but would be a bonus if I could avoid that this time round?

Yes I did see that. They look fantastic quality and spot on for what I’m after. Just a bit reluctant to spend 130 when I spent 40 last time and they did the same job. So I think what I’ll do is try and get the other ones posted for 50 and should I have any problems with them then I’ll spend the money and get the Philips ones as I know they will be good. My whole house has Philips Hue bulbs so they’ve got some money out of me, ha! Thanks again.

I cant remember where I got the bmw h7 adapters, They were just the generic £3 ones of ebay if i remember. Why BMW couldnt of just used a normal fixing I dont know as they are a pain.

something like this:

They are flimsy bits of crap so the locking tongs can be bent into shape a bit easier.

The one part I struggled with is the little stick out tab lines up with the base of the led to stop it rotating but it would inevitable break free when turning the stupid adapter to lock into place meaning the bulb went in the housing and was locked in but could rotate freely in the adapter.

it makes clearer in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OU7c8Vu6_s

I always make sure the housing is facing vertically (led's facing horizontally)

Nice one, thanks for sharing. Should make it a bit easier when I give it a go!

Finally got them installed. Haven't driven the car since but the photo highlights the difference. Certainly looks much better. Went with the Bevinsee ones in the end. Thanks for all the recommendations. Such a pain to install with the adapters, forgot just how annoying it was last time but they seem to be in now and with a bit of luck they won't start flickering and perform okay without blinding other drivers.

Just need a dry day now so can give it a very overdue clean!

Wow - what a difference!

I should have done something like that with my previous Coupe as it had Halogens and they were pretty hopeless.

Yeah made a big difference to the look and more importantly the performance on my last one, so glad to get one of the more fiddly jobs done!
