H V A worried

Hi i,am picking up my first Z4 Saturday which just happens to be an 06 3.0si it has full history and is a BMW used approved car with 64k on the clock the engine is quite  would this HVA problem still happen with a car of this mileage and age how can i tell if it was fixed in the past 
The car is still covered by AUC warranty
oh yes the car is only going to be a weekend/summer car :driving:

The engine could develop the fault at any time. You could ask BMW to check on their system if the car has ever had it fixed.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it if it's a daily drive. You'll barely ever experience the problem.
 
Then you need to ensure you enjoy the car to the full and promote good oil circulation with extensive use of the right pedal on some nice long runs!

This was not the case we me though, mine was a DD and doing 50+ miles every day on a return journey to work so always warmed up.

As IK. has said though I wouldn't worry especially if it's still AUC covered.

Again this will not help.

My dealer showed me a bulletin that said "Tell the customer to drive the car harder". I advsied him that would be hard to do unless he wanted me to red line the car everywhere.

If it's going to happen it will happen. All you can do is hope if/when it does BMW do the right thing (they probably won't now unless they have changed their stance).

Maybe! IMS failure is pretty hairy. Usually the worst thing that can happen with HVA is people thinking that you drive a diesel.
