H&R lowering springs

Afternoon all, I wonder if any of you guys can help me, I'm looking to lower my 2003 2.5 on h&r springs.
I've also got fitted 224 alloys with the standard 255 40 18 tyres and these stick out slightly from the original mv2 alloys.
Does any one know if I'll have problems with rubbing as I'm a little reluctant to fit springs if the tyres are going to rub.
If they do rub I'll have to buy 255 35 18 tyres which I didn't want to fork out just yet.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance Daz.

Hi Daz

I currently have 108's with 255/40/18 tyres on H&R stings that lower the car 30mill with no rubbing at all, clears by a mile

Hi Synthedup, thanks for that, i think the offset is going to be more the issue than the tyres as they appear to stand out more than the other wheels I had and once lowered I had concerns about the tyre hitting the outer edge of the wing.
I'll give it a go worse case I can always change back to original.
Thanks Daz.

How come you have ///M tyres on 108's

I think it'll run a bit. The ///M wheels are wider with less offset, so will protrude further.

You can always roll the arch lip outwardly to stop any rubbing

Adamski, I think your right, I'm going to fit the rear and try with just them 1st and if they rub I'll just put back original back on at least then I won't have wasted my time fitting fronts as rear should only take half n hour.

These where the tyres on the wheels when I purchased them, what should be on the 108's?

They should be 255x35x18 I think
