Oh, andI have just gone back to cycling the 9 mile journey to work and back again (weather permiting).

ah a dry weather cyclist :poke:

Lol! Yes. I don't cycle to work for fitness as I do enough of that! I do it for pleasure and speed. But not in the rain! :P

I joined a gym last November, got personal training and really love it! One of the best things i ever did.

Stick at it! It's worth it in the long run.

When I first joined the gym I thought I was only going to last a month or two. That was going on three years ago... I love it! I go anything from 3 to 6 times a week depending how busy I am.

I do a variety of things from classes to my own cardio/abs/weights stuff. And I have a personal trainer once a week. I do a few classes - aerobics, body attack, spin, body pump, bootcamp, LBT. And I do cardio around the classes depending on what time they start/finish. Or some days I don't bother with a class at all and just hammer the stepper/cross trainer/treadmill. I try to do weights a couple of times a week and also work on my abs a few times too. I don't always get a chance to get in at the weekend so often i'll just go for a run on a Saturday or Sunday.

My plan this week is:
Monday - 20 min run on treadmill, then aerobics class 5.30-6.30. Followed by 15 minutes of abs.
Tuesday - 30 mins on treadmill, 15 minutes abs, then body attack class at 6pm but I only did half of it as I was going out at 7.30.
Wednesday - Today I will do half an hour cardio before my spin class at 5.45, which will be until 6.15, 15 minutes of weights after and then gotta get off as i'm going out.
Thursday - Tomorrow I will do bootcamp class for 30 minutes at 5pm, followed by body pump for one hour straight after.
Friday - Have a session with my personal trainer 5-6pm. Then straight home to get ready to party!

I really enjoy going and am actually dissapointed if I can't make it in one day! Once you find what you enjoy and what works for you, you will really get into it and look forward to going. For some people it's a chore, but for me it's a pleasure. It's really social too (well mine is anyway) everyone knows everybody, and last year I met one of my best friends Charlotte there in an aerobics class, we've been joined at the hip ever since. :D

Good luck - but for a couple month's membership you could buy running shoes and sports kit (which you'll have to buy anyway for gym!) and just pound the roads. It's tedious but once you get into it i guess it is sort of ok - and takes up no space plus you can do it anywhere.

Impressive routine.....

I completely agree with Lucy.. If you can make the gym session fun and less of a chore you will make huge gains in what ever your objectives are in the first place.

Well without treading on toes, I own a Fitness Centre / Gym and would be happy to sort any Z4-forum members a deal if you in leicester.

If your a Leicester Lad or Lass and seriously interested drop me a PM and ill sort something.

Cheers
