Guy Martin to attempt 400mph

Motorcycle racer Guy Martin will attempt set a new land speed record in August after being confirmed as the pilot of a machine made by Triumph.

I bet he will do it. He really should be a top gear presenter with the bonkers yet serious things he does.

The way the hypercar world is developing if he waits a year or two he'll be able to do it in a Koenisegg and do it listening to the radio. Their One One is already capable of 0-250mph in 20 seconds and they are bringing out the Regera with over 1,500hp. The new Veyron is reputed to be capable of 290+mph too.

But where can you actualy drive it flat out.

Besides would require around 8-10khp to do 400mph Plus it was the tyre tech that ultimatly governed the Veyrons top speed. Not the Horse power.

As for Guy Martin. The man should be canonized. :D

Not sure you can canonise truck fitters from Grimsby, but knighted certainly, especially for coping with autism as well - let's start a petition. :thumbsup:

But they made Prescott a lord FFS, fat knacker, a total oxygen thief. I think Guy would hate being a sir as he's such a down to earth chap but he would get my vote :thumbsup:

A 400mph motorbike isn't exactly a practical tool either!

Edit: not quite sure why you'd need 10,000hp to do 400mph when the Regera with 1,500 is tipped to be the first car with a serious chance of cracking 300mph. 500hp is usually enough for 200mph, 627 was all that the McLaren F1 needed for 240mph.

Top guy ( no pun) should be a top gear presenter and knighted and go on tour with Tom Jones - everything !!! Love the guy !
