Been looking for almost a month now for that perfect Zed, and it just appeared on autotrader this morning! (saw the advert go up while refreshing!).

It was a beautiful black 04 3.0i SE with M sport seats, with a Z4 Forum.com sticker in the rear window! Had the nice little stubby upgrade etc on there. Full service history with all receipts, the works.

Contacted the dealer only to find out someone had already put a £500 deposit on it! They must have been lightning quick. Thought i'd be cheeky and asked the guy if I paid slightly over the asking price (it really did have everything I wanted...) could we work around this deposit issue :P To the guys credit he said it wouldn't be fair :cry:

Back to the search... :headbang: I'll get there soon I hope!
 
Could you ask to test drive it, then you would know if you still wanted it an could ask for first refusal if the other guy dropped out?
 
Yeah already asked him for first refusal, he said he would contact me if the deal fell through. Problem is I'm going away on holiday on Monday for two weeks, so I won't be here if it does anyway...

Here's hoping an act of god strikes the buyer down tomorrow morning! (And he lets the dealer know... lol).

I'd be mega pissed off if I put a deposit on a car only for the dealer to let somebody else take it out for a spin.

Tough break but keep looking. You'll get there in the end. We all do :thumbsup: :driving:
 
Karma would of bit u hard on the ass had you got it by paying more.

I phoned the place I got mine as soon as it went online, walked away, got home and did the deal by phone. When I picked it up I got told a guy from Scotland was on standby should the deal fall through.

I was the same with mine. I got there just before an ex-Forum member, glastoveteran, got to it.
 
I got mine by posting a deposit on the spot, while another customer was in the back negotiating price. Plunked down the credit card without a test drive. The other party was fuming, but... money talks.
