Guessing the GM5 module

Just about to go out in the car and my remote key fob doesn't work.
Opened the car with the physical key and alarm goes off, key fob won't lock the car or turn the alarm off either.
Lock it with the physical key then go and search for the spare key. Same results there with the spare.

Left it for a bit and the keys work fine again

I will check the battery but that should be fine as the car is used regularly plus the battery is relatively new. Just in case I'll put the trickle charge on tomorrow. Battery voltage maybe a little bit low on startup but goes to 14.1 when started so alternator is OK

I'll also check for codes.

So if it is gm5, any recommendations for getting it fixed?

I'm pretty sure the receiver is in the rear view mirror so that's also a possibility.

From memory there is a repair service in surrey, so not far from you. They just replace the two replays normally to fix the issue.

I did see them but wondered why the difference in cost. Some of the eBay services are half the price.
I suppose it's all about paying the money and taking the chance.
