GTR on Top Gear

Did anyone else watch this last night? I was always one for turning my nose up at the GTR but holy crap what a machine!!!! Round the track it was something silly like 0.7 behind an Enzo! Still not sold on the looks, love the front view, side is ok but the back is very fat and doesnt look right somehow.
i have an order in for a V10 R8 but am seriously considering cancelling it for the GTR now :thumbsup:
 
It just a computer on wheels............My god i would love one.
As for looks! like most car some sides good some sides bad like the Z4 back and side i love front i would date it
but not love it. :)
 
Jas667, there is no way I would have an R8 over the GT-R even forgetting about the price difference. You need £56k for a fully specced GT-R and probably £95k minimum for a V10 R8, but at the end of the day it's still just an Audi.

The only thing is though, you'll need to get your skates on, I think you'll already be looking at a 2 year wait without paying a premium over list.
 
Wondermike I spoke to a dealer last night, I would be in 1 late 2009 early 2010 which is perfect for me as then I would have had the Z 3 years which is enough. I think I do want one, it is such a bargain! I also love the R8 though for different reasons. I love to look at it and it is great to drive.
Its funny I have posted this on an R8 forum too and the majority of them are shooting down the GTR. Saying they dont care its faster its a Nissan, all the usual. I think they would if it pulled up behind them and they couldnt get away tho :rofl:
 
I watched it last night. I was saddened to see that (in japan only) that it was limited to 112MPH..

I love all the bells and whistles in the car, and the performance is just, out there. but I don't like the look of the car....
 
By the time you'll be able to get one, the Spec-Vs should be available. :yeah:

Forget not getting away from it, a V8 R8 wouldn't even see which way a GT-R went, it's chalk and cheese in performance terms.

A V10 one would be closer still, but my money would still be on the GT-R.
 
^^ I seriously cant see the V10 even coming close, judging from where the GTR was placed on the top gear test with the stig driving. Certainly be interesting
 
Thanks wondermike, I just actually tried to order one online but apparently I have a 'secure code' for my card which I dont know so I couldnt! Ill need to pop in sometime next week. Cheers again guys :driving:

Jas, are they talking about the three digit number on the BACK of your card?
 
^^ No, I put that in and then when I clicked proceed it directed me to another page where I was to put in a password I had supposedly set up as extra security! No idea what it is. I dont know my pin code on the card either as otherwise nights out would get crazy expensive and I would get the bill a month later! :P Oh well, will need to go down to the dealer when I get my new pin through...then forget the pin asap!
