Decided to give this stuff a trial run, and am very impressed! The depth of shine you get is very good:

It's pretty forgiving stuff as well - simple spray and apply with a microfibre, then buff off. Ideally you apply it as a base coat on the paintwork, but it can be applied on top of waxes etc. - on the basecoat it is expected to last 6 - 8 months, on top of waxes about half that. You can also dilute it 3:1 with ionised water as a quick detailer, or as a drying agent after a wash - although once mixed it has a shelf life of about a month.

Any overspray that dries - or application in direct sunlight - can be removed with a wet cloth (or using the quick detailer mix), so mistakes are easily rectified. It also works well as extra protection on wheels - I've used it on top of the C5 originally applied

What ratios do you use? I was told that 2 parts ionised water with 1 part C2v3 was best for a detailer, and 3 parts ionised water with 1 part C2v3 for a drying agent. Also, what's "lotus effect" - I always knew that as "lots-of-trouble-usually-serious"

2:2:1 = 40% C2v3, 40% BSD and 20% distilled water - seems to give the best attributes of C2V3 and BSD, can dilute further as a QD if required (I don't tend to use anything as a drying agent). I have my MetroVac Sidekick to get water out of awkward places such as shuts, mirror housings, badges etc. and it works wonders on getting the wheels dry 8)

Liking the sounds of this and the mix scenario.

I certainly have plenty of Sonax BSD - an awesome product for the money.

I might order a sample of Gtechniq C2v3 from CYR.

Got some of this ordered and a mix made up;
just need the weekend and some nice weather to test!
