Just if anyone is interested at £540...

Considering CarSoft in it's latest version is about £300, it's not much more to get this fully featured latest version of the proper BMW tool.

Cheers

that's pretty cool.. wouldn't that let us do the roof-up-with-key mods as well as things like coding retrofits?

wonder what they'd go for on ebay, second hand..

tempting to get one, do a few things then sell it on..

OK - I'll take second pop in the line at it.

An alternative an individual, the club or a group chip in and own it.

For the club approach it's rented to individuals to use and return.
An individual can own and rent it the same as a club. Say £50 per time for 10 days max
Group it just stay in place until someone needs it and then posted on. You can sell on your ownership, etc. 10 people at say £50

Usually deposits change hand on these things too, but with Paypal it's all easy enough.

Just some thoughts as I've done this stuff in the past on expensive Jeep tools.

Looks like £460 would do it and reading this ad I'm not sure how the optional T30 laptop works (can you buy for less without?):

Could be a plan.

I assume then, this would do airbag warning lights too? That would be commonly in demand I guess if it did.

It does everything.

I am semi-tempted to just get it myself to keep, and then if people locally ish to me need anything doing I can do it for beer tokens etc...

Just I have a £1500 shopping list of other goodies I'd like for car ECU writing/diagnostics as well. Just not sure which will be more valuable...

Carsoft is a good alternative but I using the one BMW do you will know it's good, but Carsoft might be lacking. I guess you wouldn't know until you use both a great deal to find out.

Only downside with the tool is you need a laptop and ideally the software installed/setup on it to send around, so another £400 there... as a club/send around kinda tool to share the outlay is gonna be more like £800 ish!?
