Hello, I am new to the forum and BMW. I installed a brake module on my previous Crossfire that causes the 3rd brake light a series of rapid flashing slow flash and then a steady light as long as your foot is on the brake. I inquired at bmw but they say there may be a problem with the vehicle computer. To my knowledge there is constant power and connectivity to the brake light fixture. Has anyone successfully installed this aftermarket flashing brake module with no subsequent problems?? Thanks!

you can program any or all of the rear lights to flash under heavy braking in the Carly app if that is any good. You can also program your hazards to give two rapid flashes as opposed to one flash.

its quite common among modern cars to have the brake lights flash under heavy braking, having them all flash is a great safety addition.
Flashing all the time is probably illegal!

yes, all brake lights are good, but I have found from being behind some autos that have this brake light pulsating feature, I tend to brake faster, albeit perhaps avert a rear end crash, my rear end.

The hazards come on under heavy braking.
One could make a module with a g sensor to flash the brake lights. In fact a simple spring with a weight that is thrown forward to make electrical contacts could be made.
But why bother if the brake lights operate on the car in front, if a sensible distance behind, no need for the extra urgency.
