I have a Gruppe M induction kit for the Z4M which is as new and only covered 1.5 k.
This in my opinion makes the car breath and sound as it should and in my eyes is a must for all Z4M/ R owner IMO.

I am after £700 ONO

If I don't sell my car, I'd be very interested in this. In two minds about selling up or keeping it

Wow. I paid £400 for my Gruppe M brand new from Japan when I got my Z. Guess that's the delight of a weak pound these days!

Hello Andy,
If only I had! More like £900 these days! Oh well that's life I guess! That was imported from Japan!

Wowser. I'm honestly not sure I can say they are worth the money at that price!

It really is just a K&N filter with a GRP heat shroud (wrapped in CF). I guess still no one else makes one similar though.

you mean its not actual CF :o

I want the noise but not for £900 for a piece of plastic.
I've heard/ only heard (from a muppet with a tuned M3 thats never seen a trackday :P ) that you loose torque with this kit?

Looks like actual carbon fibre on the inside to me going by the pics.

I'm not so sure it is Carbon all the way through. It doesn't look like it on the inside of mine to me if I'm honest (not that I'm an expert). Looks more like fibreglass matting. I've seen inside my CF roof (the unfinished side) and it didn't look like the Gruppe housing, but obviously there's different techniques/resins etc which could give a different appearance.

I've always been of the thought that its a carbon laminate over GRP though. Regardless, it sounds and looks lovely in the engine bay. :)

I had one of these fitted to my old Z3 2,8. And the sounds were simply amazing. Pure deep roar!! Turned the old girl in to a hotrod

Stupid question but if these things really are that great way don't BMW change their air box design?

Agreed the sound is lovely

I think its worth the money imo the gruppe m stuff is great quality......
Intake wise its the best aftermarket option......

The stock intake is very good however

Gruppe M is a great piece of kit. Buy this and you'll be driving around with the windows (Coupe) down. It sounds fantastic even better on cold winter nights.

Not having a go, but maybe you should start your own thread about how much you'd pay for one instead of giving the op a hard time on his for sale thread.

These are £950 new delivered to the UK and also quite rare so why is this worth over 50% less?

Huh? I place an offer on the thread for an item for sale with my maximum price. The seller does not have to take that but if he does, I will pay £400 for it.

Reason behind that is that I can claim VAT / Import duty back on supplier provided versions which means that unless it is in that ball park for me, I might as well import a new one from Japan.
