Group buy - remote roof / remote roof one touch ** Closed **

Hi,

Sent a PM to Gaptech and so far zero response, and it was a few weeks ago if not months.

Without reading through 30 pages, what's the score with this now.

I bought the original module for inside the car. For the remote roof, what's the cost and details for that module?

I can't seem to locate it, with the discounts etc. What do I do?

I've a funny feeling there is a single module now that does everything, but I think the reason my question wasn't answered by gaptech, was the fact I asked if there could be a further discount for those people who bought the first one, and would prefer to have a single solution (so one module), rather than two modules), so the same price for the single as there would be for the extra module for the roof. If that makes sense...

Im a little confused now lol.

I too had the one touch first, then bought the Remote. £71.99 is then the price for the module you need.
 
Ok, thanks, but what do i do to buy it? There is no mention of a paypal address on the 30 pages i've just gone through, although it might be hiding somewhere.

I have found (well the GF discovered it) a neat trick with this...

So we are nearly home (about 30 seconds away) with the roof down.. driving along at about 25mph.. and the GF presses and holds the close roof button... i was like that wont work yet... as i slow right down to pull up to the drive the roof started closing without anyone pressing anything :o

I thought it might be a blip but done it a few times since now.. if you are nearly at your destination and press and hold the close button when you move slow enough for it to work it starts closing!!!

Not sure if thats a BMW thing or gaptech's module retaining its functions for a while.

Aquazi, I'll try to explain what's going on;
If you didn't have the One Touch fitted and you held the raise button whilst you were doing 25MPH nothing would happen as you are going faster than the max speed. However if you continued to hold the button and then slowed down, as you dropped below the speed threshold the hood would suddenly begin to raise as your finger is still on the button.
With the One Touch fitted, if you press the button and then release it the module will in affect continue to hold the button down for you for 16 secs, if you were doing say 25MPH then the roof will not move but if you then slowed down to below the the threshold the roof would suddenly move although it probably wouldn't have enough of the 16 seconds left to fully raise.
Hope that makes some sense. :)

If you mean the Skye trip you have missed it for this year, but there is the 2 day trip to Islay planned for September, get yourself along the more the merrier.
 
I recently received my Gaptech Remote Controlled Hood Plus (RCH+) module and installed it today. Maybe 20 minutes total work, and I was being cautious. :)

The module works perfect. I posted a video of the operation. I must say this is a fantastic mod for anyone with a convertible Z4 or Z4MR. :eek:

In the video I was holding the unlock button, or the lock button...but I guess once you engage the sequence...there is not need to 'hold' the button as I did in the video. :lol:

Hi Gaptech

I saw the group buy offer some time ago when I joined but hadn't bought a zed.

I finally got the zed a day after the offer closed so can i purchase the OTH + R at the original group buy price.

PS. After all we Maldives blue 2.2se owners have to stick togetther :) :wink:

I got mine today, and after a quick install (it took me longer to get the darn console back on than any other part of the install) it works perfectly.
 
I got mine Thursday, fitted Friday and all is good, I went down the soldering route don't trust the scotchloc connectors.
