Is DISCA correct?? I thought this allowed the hood to be operated from the key fob even if your fob does not currently do anything no matter how long you press it! Can anyone confirm please otherwise I may have to cancel my interest.

I would prefer it if the windows stayed down when the hood is opened, I mean who drives around with the hood down and the windows up? Can it be programmed to do this?

I drive roof down windows up loads.

Just makes it that little bit quieter in the cabin at speed.

I do. Would defeat the object of having a wind deflector if my windows were down.

Try driving at 70mph with those windows down. It's not nice.

Unless it is very hot, 30 degrees C, then I always have the windows up when the roof is down.

As long as your fob locks and unlocks the car and also causes the roof to go up or down by holding the key in the lock or unlock position whilst in the driver's door lock then the RCH+ will work your car. This is the standard situation for every Z4 I've sold a module to. Your fob does not need to operate your roof remotely before fitting the module.

Car locked and left for a while. Key in lock, turn key, door unlocks (good) hood does not move (bad) Lock car with key and start again.
Open car with fob. Put key in door and turn. It now opens and closes the hood and works every time.

What's going on?? Is this normal??

I would guess the car must be unlocked before the hood can be activated?

On mine, the car must be LOCKED before I can do the non-gaptech roof down.

Having thought about it, you would need to open the car to de-activate the alarm before you could use the key to open the roof. So I think it all makes sense now. ......... Maybe.........
