GROM feeding direct to amplifier

Looking for my next project. Has anyone installed a GROM USB3 and used the analogue output that normally goes to the head unit into a two channel amplifier instead? If possible this would enable the driver to control GROM from the radio but bypass the standard head unit for audio amplification. I realise FM radio would be lost. Taking this a stage further GROM sell a DAB radio add on so head unit could control DAB unit.

can someone post a link to these items?? i keep seeing these being mentioned

I stuck "grom" and "bmw" into google and lo and behold... http://gromaudio.co.uk/ :-)

I have the Grom USB 3 unit fitted and I am thinking of adding the DAB adapter to it. If anyone has this fitted can you advise if it works ok, where did you fit the antenna? And does the station info show up on the business cd led display?

Just been on to Grom tech support. When asking about possibility of a line out to an amp

"Well the grom unit emulates the external changer, so whatever speakers you have connected to the stereo, to play your cd player, the grom will use those. There is no way to make the audio from the grom come out of any other source than that."

Possibly if you know the wiring layout you could cut appropriate wires and divert to an amp, if its passed through at line out strength/format
