Grinding noise when braking

Noticed that every so often I get a bit of a grinding noise when braking and it sounds like its from the rear of my 03 Z4 E85. I have tried to find a break down of how to remove the calipers which I have done on previous cars but not this one, is it same old same old as far as the procedure is concerned?

As for the grinding noise not there all the time and you only really hear it when almost at a stop so im guessing it rotor/pad issue or could it be something else? Not gears or drive as it does it when you roll to a stop in Neutral with foot on the pedal but stops when you take foot off

Same issue, I've been planning on changing pads and discs at some point but haven't got round to it... Not even sure that is the cause?

I would say so. Remove the two guide bolts on the inboard side with a 7mm hex bit.

If the sound is fairly subtle, you may be hearing the wear indicator dragging, so it would be time to change the pads before you need to buy the indicator as well.
