Grills

Has anyone got any recommendations with regards to purchasing new all black kidney grills?

I just don't like the chrome surround on the standard grills on my car, and BMW don't appear to sell them.

Regards
Alan

I purchased some used ones off ebay and sprayed them black with Plastidip - they look great. I have kept the original ones incase I ever sell the car so the new owner can decide what that want to do.

I got mine from a forum member who originally bought them from www.cksperformance.com model number BM01-8503-BK

I bought mine from 2Xcite through eBay.

There currently showing no stock but send them a message they may just not have them listed:

They fit perfectly:

are they those aftermarket headlights? you had any issues with them, they look the bo**ocks, and also can you send me that bumper please :)

Thanks for feedback on suppliers, now supplementary question.

What all black grill to go for, matt or gloss, with or without M sport stripes?

Another vote for CKS performance, great quality and fit compared to most of the poor fitting Chinese crap out there, I go for matt black usually but gloss black looks great on a black car imo, which is what I went for this time.

Yes they are the aftermarket headlights I've had no issues with them they fit perfect and look great,

I'm not normally a fan of aftermarket lights as they can look cheap but these look very OEM looking, I bought them after seeing them fitted to another Zed

These like my grills came from 2Xcite through eBay not cheap though at £369.99 but worth it IMO

Dip 'em. Gives a far superior look to plastic finish.

Will cost you £8 in dip. Done mine a year ago and still perfect

just dip them... £5 can of rubber dip and mine look mint :)

mine dipped black + chrome surrounds left as it was.

Thanks for responding.

2Xcite won't have stock again for 3 months.

No idea where to get or how to use rubber dip, and have no spare grills on which to experiment if I had any.

So will go with CKS Performance grills.

ebay, amazon, halfords.

dip literally means that you can spray it on and peel it off to return to stock if you get bored.

which is why in my opinion it is the best way to do it as you don't have to buy another set of grills.

I plastidipped mine, But keeps peeling at the edges etc, Also only really get a matt look.

Looking for some gloss ones, Either painting my own or buying not too sure yet.

Seems a hassle to paint your own.
