Grilles Part 2: V-Brace

I've seen a really old topic on this but nothing recent. My plan was to go all black with Frost radiator paint behind the grilles so everything back there is hidden and more aesthetically pleasing, plus a black radiator adds +bhp (that last bit is a lie). But I've noticed in the past people started painting the V bars behind the kidney grilles. I can't decide whether this looks pretty or ugly, does anybody still have this done and if so can you post any pics? Ta.

Reminds me I used to have an additional black steel mesh to stop small UFO’s piercing the radiators, which did a fair job of hiding the shiney bits...

Need to do this on the //M

I think it depends on the colour of the car and any extra coloured bits that you might have added. I want to do mine matt black (mainly because I have plenty of it) but a different colour could be good, would have to be subtle though with the Maldives blue body though??

I was thinking of doing my calipers and vbrace in yellow. Yellow wouldn't look bad with your blue!

But I'm holding off until I get some Photoshopping done :P

Funny you should mention that, I have gold calipers and I thought about doing them gold. I also have a silver stripe on my new carbon splitter so thought maybe silver could bring the front end together with the grills and the splitter. But both also sound a little unsubtle.

I like that, subtle but effective. I think I'll paint them, its just deciding on colour now.

I say definitely not a part I would want visible.
Much better if you cannot see those struts at all.

I blacked out everything back there in the end, no more ugly radiator, no V-brace

Anyone know how to remove the brace? Is it just a case of removing the plastic trim above to get access?

It'll be easier if you have the bumper off but I think just taking out the kidney grills is fine.

Iirc it's just 4 screws - 2 at the top/middle and 1 in each corner.

Best pic I have to show it exposed. I was looking at this yesterday and I think u can manuever it out from the grills.
