Hi all,

I've been browsing through lots of posts here, so thought I'd join up. I've been looking at getting a new car for a while now (6mths+) - looked seriously at s2000s, C30's, z4's, slk's and various hot hatches.
However, having recently re-looked at the z4 detailed credentials, most notably the revised 3.0si engine :driving: (and minor cosmetic tweaks) and affordability of relatively new (e.g. 07 plate) motors, it's certainly top of my list.

Current car is a Clio 172 cup, which is great, but I want a more grown up car etc... Only bought that because I wanted to save some cash whilst we bought our house, which resulted in me selling my beloved vx220 :(

So, I'm currently doing lots of research and wanting to read about the reality of owning one. Only thing I do know, is that I want a 3.0si but not with 108 wheels! :D

Must say, I've been very happy to see such a nice and knowledgable bunch of people (from both sides of the pond!). Every car I've had, I have been a member of the respective club, so it's fantastic to be here.

Are you looking for a coupe or roadster?

These coupes are at unbelievable prices, there is no car with the performance or spec of these for the cash :thumbsup:

Wondermike - should have said, I'm after a roadster, although those prices are fantastic! Thanks the links though, very interesting!

Have been looking at 07 plate roadsters around similar money, but perhaps a little higher. Budget is likely to be somewhere 20-22k, but obviously the lower the better.
 
cheers all - by the way, is there any kind of area to see who's local to which areas? (was thinking mainly of the UK, but would apply to the US too!)

I remember a previous forum using google maps (i think) to show where everyone's from.

Just wondering...

Go take a look at what in on AUC - but if your colour particular just keep browsing....
 
well, pretty much one month after joining here, I'm pleased to announce I've bought a z4!

Put a deposit on one on Sunday - spec is basically a '57 plate 3.0si sport roadster.

Will post full spec and pictures at the weekend when I pick her up.

Can't wait :D

:yeah: Congrats! BTW I think the 108's are the best looking OEM BMW wheels. I love how they look on my 3.0 si. 8)
