Hi yes it was the same guys..apart from a MFU...when I booked it in and drove there the chap was skiing in Switzerland...apparently its not just a simple flash through the OBD port, the ECU box has to be taken off and opened up to affect the change..
They came and fetched it from home and returned it back a week later and gave me a few quid off for the MFU...good corporate management!
Also they have now on the stage 3 backed it off from 295 BHP alleged to 280 BHP because of fears of over doing it, which is very easy and tempting on the N20 engine..
Having said that it transforms the car, good job it's got an 8 speed auto which changes gears fast as you would easily hit the rev limiter in 2/3 whilst trying to hang on if you give it the full beans..
So seems like a good job, engine remains incredibly docile and well behaved on part throttle but mutates into a banshee gremlin on full throttle and full boost..
I found sport mode has a big effect on how it goes as this keeps the engine spinning and then the pick up is more what you expect..ie press the throttle and it goes..in comfort mode you get a spool up which whilst its not a lag isn't instant grunt..
So compared to my 220BHP XC70 diesel and the wife's 170 BHP diesel Mini you need to re program your driving style for rapid/instant progress.
You can potter around in comfort mode down lanes listening to the birds sing etc on part throttle or go into sport mode with lots of throttle and only hear wind and the engine burping and farting away on the overrun...nice!
