Greetings. Buying an M or si.

Hello everyone. I have an si and an M picked out. Should be purchasing one of the two in the next few days.
I'm trying to find out first of all how hard it is to put power steering in an si. I enjoy getting good gas mileage which makes me lean towards the si. But I would definitely put an LSD in it and might put power steering in it.

If you’re already thinking of putting an LSD in an Si you should just get the M and be done with it.

I'm guessing, but I suspect that by the time you've put an LSD and hydraulic PAS onto an Si you'll have spent nearly half the extra that an M would cost - I'd just go straight for an M!

That's true. I did all the calculations already and it would cut the coat diff to about $2k after LSD and hydraulic ps. I am a little bit of a rare bird getting so much enjoyment from mpg.

However, I just bought an '07 Z4M! Half an hour ago. Found a great deal. So I welcome myself to your club! I probably won't be around here for replies for a bit but I'm sure your congratulations will be coming and I appreciate it.

"man who enjoys his mpg buys Z4M"

This could be a short ownership

I'm guessing our new member is stateside? If so, his mpg will be even lower as they can't afford full-sized gallons over there :poke:

Well welcome to Z4 ownership OP.

Hopefully you'll share some photos once you've got it!

Well, the Z4M didn't work out. He has another offer.

Looking at an si now. It's probably just as well because, as Mr Wilks said, it could have been a short ownership watching it get 15mpg in the city. My 5.7 liter Corvette was better than that.
Yes, American. Maryland. The land of Mary. But from Virginia. After the Virgin Queen.

Got a 2007 si today with 53,000 miles. Drives good.

Well given it's Independence Day you'll never forget when you got it.

And an Si can be surprisingly economical - mine averages well over 30 mpg (UK Gallons).

So just enjoy it, but we'd love to see a photo or two when you stop driving.
