Been a bit of a lurker on here lately while in the process of sourcing a Z. Haven't technically picked it up yet but the deal is done - 57 Coupe 3.0 Si BMW AUC. 34k miles and just under £15k with a decent trade-in, so pretty happy so far provided that I don't end up with a lemon!
Anyway, there is one minor irritation that I have and I'd like to sort it if possible in order to alleviate my OCD. The fascia of the stereo has a tiny amount of cosmetic damage to it where some of the surface finish has slightly come away from the buttons. Called BMW and the fascia is not available separately even though I believe the head unit is actually a standard item, only the facias are different to suit the different vehicle lines.
So, any tips on where to source one from? I've seen a thread somewhere else on here that shows how to switch the black on a new HU to grey to suit older Zs. Anyone on here still have a black one knocking around that they'd like to offer me for a reasonable sum? Must be cosmetically perfect and obviously in working order.
