Not surprised that the party who promised to negate on the debt would win. Who would not vote for Santa Claus

So … what are the predictions, Greece will fall out of the Euro zone within 6 months now?

Will be very interested to see how happy these voters will be when their currency will devalue and the international money dries up.

I am intrigued as to how the Greeks, or any other nation for that matter, would be able to effect an orderly migration out of the Euro. That said "Greeks" and "orderly" don't often appear in the same sentence.

I was thinking of holidaying in Greece this year but I think'll be general chaos by summer - more so then usual!

Rethink on the cards :paper:

Not sure if Greece was ever Euro material to be honest, so it would be the least damaging nation to drop out I would say.

Cut off the diseased limb to get healthy growth. If works for companies to do this, so I expect the same for the Euro member countries.

I am sure that the average German won't be sorry to not have to subsidise Greece.

An old one resurected:

A rural town in Italy is twinned with a town in Greece.

The mayor of the Greek town visits Italy and sees the mansion belonging to its mayor and wonders how he could afford such a home.

The Italian says: “You see that bridge over there? The government gave us a grant to build a two-lane bridge, but by building a single lane bridge with traffic lights at either end, this house could be built.”

The following year the Italian visits Greece. He is astounded by Greek mayor’s spanking new palatial residence, complete with gold taps and marble floors. When he asks how this could be afforded, the Greek says: “You see that bridge over there?”

The Italian replies: “No.”
