Hi all,
my car is COVEREDDD in swirls so I think I should probably buy a car cleaning kit to remove them all....

thinking buy a kit and do it myself or maybe find a novice or someone cheap to do it for me on the detailing world forums

http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/dodo-juice/buff-daddy-das-6-orbital-machine-polisher.aspx

Or the clean my car DAS-6 , basically the same machine . I bought it with dodo juice lime prime.

Getting rid of swirls isnt easy or cheap..

A full machine polish is the only way to eradicate most of the swirls and hazing.....

I would have thought £200 was a figure to start with.. What colour is your car ?

midnight blue... I don't mind spending a few days doing it myself, think I'd much prefer to do it myself to be honest

Get a DAS 6 as Zermatt suggests..

And get a range of cut, prep and finishing products....Whatever you buy will be personal choice,i use menzerna products.

I will probably work out around £200 for all your tackle if you buy shrewdly, but then you will have it forever and be able to use the products on pads on 8-10 cars before replacement.

Midnight blue is lovely but will be hard work, but the effort will be worth it for the end result.

thanks for the advice guys,
My car is midnight blue with a cream interior...

I need to remove the swirls, the carpets could do with a clean, the cream plastics could definitely do with a clean and I have to refurb and spray the seats and door cards....
list of products with would suit those jobs?? I know some polishes are meant for dark coloured cars...I have 3 tubs of simoniz wax

I also need a pressure washer and snow foam attachment + shampoos.

I can get the following from the karcher outlet
Karcher Foam Nozzle
1 £12.99 £12.99
Karcher K2.130 Refurbished Pressure Washer
1 £49.99 £49.99
Karcher WD 2.200 Refurbished Multi Purpose Vacuum
1 £26.99 £26.99

Forget the Karcher foam nozzle. They're not worth the money. Cleanyourcar do a great nozzle that gives brilliant results. I gave my Karcher one away :)

The 2 best polishes for dark colours that i have found that are cost effective are Poorboys blackhole and Autoglym ultra deep shine..

Both have heavy fillers to get rid of any hazing and swirls that are on the paint...

After washing you need to clay the whole car first.. Use Bilthammer clay as it only needs water to lubricate, most clays have there own dedicated lube.

Then start the machining process..You will have to play it by ear as to how heavy you need to cut and how many passes are needed.. I would reccommend using the 3M system as pad and product are easily matched.Once you are happy with the car and its correction level then move onto polish.

Black hole or UDS....I always do 2 coats and that ensures a deep even coat.

Then top with chosen wax or last stage protector... I use R5 VE lockdown.. I have also used Collinite 845 and Optimum optiseal. Its all a personal choice, but again these are the 3 most cost effective LSP's i have used.

I also have a product called wetglaze 2.0... Its just a topper that adds a deep colour and glaze to the car...It doesnt last long, but makes the paintwork look stunning.

Hope this gets you on your way..
