Great start to the morning

must have clipped a raised manhole cover as they are re-surfacing the road and it ripped the inside of the tyre

Lodge a claim against the council. I have worked in road maintenance & civil engineering for the last 11years. Th e claim will not come from public money - it will be passed on to their contractors who will be covered by their insurance.

In the absense of any photos a detailed description of the time and location. LA's are paying out along similar lines for potholes all the time.

Your claim could be verified by other people coming forward with similar damage.

The contractor shouldn't have re-opened the road in that condition. If it was me I would return to the seen, take photos of the road, manhole, signage and put in a claim.

Yes I had thought about trying to claim, but I have no documented proof that was where it was done. I feel that I was just unlucky and TBH, having done 22,000 miles on them I think Ive pretty much had my monies worth out of them. Will check their website tonight, but thanks bony_13

No they did Taz, a cyclist helped me take the wheel off and put the space saver on, well my help was watching him do it :D
