Great price on pierberg water pump and mahle stat

Less than £200...! Behr/Mahle Thermostat only £34. Is this too good to be true? Anyone dealt with Cartech-one before - looks like a decent size german-based distributor. Thoughts?

Comes up as £255 for me. Behr stats any good?

Pay on credit card then they are liable too if there are any issues.

Think Behr/Mahle are OEM manufacturers - intersted in views

Yes, sorry was meaning the thermostat - any idea who does OE manufacture for that? Remember reading that the thermostat is best to get OEM part as some of the aftermarket fitment is average.
 
A word of caution regarding the stat... IF you are replacing it, I would either go BMW, of find the exact manufacturer of the BMW one and get one the same. I've had stats from about 4 different manufacturers, ranging from £40-£60 and every one has not worked properly, as in not been fully closed with no power applied. Compared them to a known working BMW one, and from blowing through them, it was clear something wasn't right. When fitted to the car, all of them allowed the temp to FALL when idling or in cold weather, rendering the heater useless.

Interesting, thanks mike. I thought I’d read a warning of this somewhere. I might just bite the bullet and get a Bmw one for c£100.

Any issues with a Meyle expansion tank as I might as well replace that too?
 
Why are you changing the stat just out of interest? They are not commonly known to fail.

Hella or Meyle on the tank, will be fine. Think I paid £40 for a Hella one for mine. The stats are actually very reliable, it it's not broken, I wouldn't consider replacing it TBH, unlike the pump..

Ok thanks guys. Will save myself £100 if I can. As stat is attached to the pump, a few have suggested changing both while you’re at it.
