Currently in Aus, for a 5 week break. Spent the weekend near Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Rd. The road just begged for a Z4 to be driven on it, instead of the bland euro box I was in. Long sweeping bends, hairpins, up hill down dale, ocean to left, waves crashing on rocks. Imagine the Corniche but without the traffic. I swear we only saw another car about every 10 mins or so. It was luvverly!

The muppets at UK Assist delivered my repaired car two weeks after I left UK, not had a chance to check it over yet.

Enjoy your stay there.

Don't worry about the volcanic ash eating away in the paintwork, or the streaky lines and orange peel that cover the panels with a gap of 1 mm at the top and about 2 at the bottom

Mate- thats a beautiful road. Did u start from melbourne or the otherway. I did the road twice when I was in oz for a year. beautiful. for sheer driving pleasure and the scenery i havent driven on another road thats better. obviously this was only in a mazda 323f. I wish i had z4 there. couldnt have afforded just for a year. have fun.

Melbourne end to Port Fairey and back, through Apollo Bay etc. Just ached for my Z

Glad to hear you all got to experience one of the nicer drives around our fair city.

I hope you had some nice weather for the drive because when a storm blows in, that road can be down-right nasty.

Am now in Cairns and going to drive the coast road to Port Douglas. Only about 60k, but looks nice. Can hire a Z for $250 a day but too expensive, so may try a Cooper S at $129 a day.

Have noticed here that even if a pedestrian thinks about crossing the road at a crossing point, cars screech to a stop. Seems to be less use of cell phone whilst driving too. (probably due to crap signal!)

Was warned about Sydney driving by other Aussies, but to be honest, compared to London and other cities, they are pussy cats!

There are some lovely old 'utes knocking about which must have hundreds of thousands of miles on the clock. I did notice, also, a fair number of 1960's American beast. Still only seen 2 Z4's.

Sounds like a great trip was in Sydney last year when you walk towards a zebra crossing they stop think its the law same as in NZ.

Stayed in Cairnes 2005 great week went diving on the reef and popped up to Kuranda got the cable car up train down got some top pics.

Remember all the great old US motors when i was there and all in right hand drive
