Just had an email from RAC about this as 100,000 signatures required for petition to go to Govt . Link to sign is here https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/599089 :driving:

I mean ive signed but there is zero chance of this actually happening imho, one of the treasuries buggest sources of income

Well I've signed it!

Coincidentally I also had an e-mail from Fair Fuel UK asking me to e-mail my MP asking him to support a reduction in fuel duty, so I did that too.

Even though I can't see it happening. :(

It may, but they will just 'adjust' other taxes to compensate. RFL up by 20%, council tax up by 30%, etc, etc.

IMHO it is a waste of time having a petition against fuel duty, as the narrative is against fossil fuels anyway, so will give them more ammunition to 'go green'.

We should do something with the oil companies who increase as soon as oil goes up and then stall for weeks when it goes down, criminal springs to mind

These petitions are a load of rubbish... Let's setup another one for having every Monday and Friday classed as Bank Holiday.... that'll be really popular with people so will get lots of signatures.
