What a brilliant piece of kit.

On top of the price there is shipping and import costs . You can find out more at http://www.jackpointjackstands.com there are also some U tube video,s if you tap in jackpointjackstands in Google.
Like I said there not cheap but neither is the z sitting on the deck on its discs. hopefully without you under it.
If you do go ahead I have a couple of tips that make the use easier.
jakblade said:May try jacking up rear and dropping onto blocks then as others have suggested, Jack up off inner wish bone mount to put stands under. Could be a bit safer. May just try to widen the footprint of my axle stands first and purchase a second jack.Roll on the weekend.

I do the same as you. But I put cut down telegraph poles under the front jacking points. Which leaves all the front end open. to work. If you wish to take the wheels off don't forget to loosen the studs first. I do have a decent jack though. :!:jakblade said:i have performed the task of jacking the car up using the rear jacking points on either side to place stands under the fronts on several occasions with no issues, lots of trepidation mind but no issues........until yesterday...Yes the car was on solid level(ish) ground. Slight slope on driveway but caused any issues in the past, plus the car went uphill!!!!!
Passenger side front was up and on stand. I had lowered rear onto some blocks for more clearance. When I had the drivers side up and was about to put in stand under the front just easing up slowly on the jack and.........twong!!!! Car slips...how I no not....in gear, handbrake on and chocks under wheels that aren't off the ground. Passenger side stand ends up about 20-25 deg from vertical with my nice new jack in a not very happy looking position, decidedly warped looking..Now when I try to lower off jack things just get even worse...all sorts of words going round outside my head, like...shoot,oh dear, nevermind and ooopppsss.......car is now precariously balanced WTFTDN!!!!!
Emergency call to brother who comes round with extra jack and after almost an hour of faffing and finagling the Zed is safely back on terra firma....
There's just gotta be a better/safer way to do this????![]()

Would 4 of these scissor jacks not be easier + safer :? i'm not a axle stand fan at alltried sitting a V6 TT on them a while back whilst wheels went for refurb & bottled out , just didn't feel safe

I thought the same that its not beyond the wit of man to come up with a product based on the same idea . But I am sure there is a world patent on some part of the kit. and the last thing anyone wants is a legal battle with the states

Like your approach!
Had to put a new wheelarch liner on the front of my 325ti recently due to fat bird damage on the motorway (it was a Grouse - but then she would I suppose)! Needed a bit of clearance to work with and as my jack is pretty shonky and I have no ramps I drove it onto some house bricks! Must be something I learned from being married to a scouser!
Seriously though if was planning on getting more involved in lying under my Z4 I would look seriously at those products - they look so much easier than ramps (for which a Z4 is usually too low anyway) and jacks and stands because if you jack using the jacking points where do you put the stands?
BRC said:These were on the same page as the Ebay link earlier in the thread. Look like the best of both worlds to me. drive the car onto a ramp and then jack it up from there. Least that would take care of the front whereas you could conventionally lift on the rear - just a thought

Yes, but if I try to do that I won't have a Z4 anymore so won't need to live in the pit(s)!![]()

What are you wanting to jack your car up for is it an extensive repair or some work on the wheels
A pit is no better than jack stands for some things, you still have to lift the car if you want to work on the wheels/suspension - and it can actually make it harder in some circumstances as, if you have the car over the pit, you can't use the central front/rear jacking points and, (depending on the width of the pit) it can make it difficult to get axle stands in the correct position if you want them inboard of the hubs e.g. under the wishbonessrhutch said:Or buy a house with a garage and a pit

Don't get me wrong, a pit is very useful but it's not ideal for everything
