Got your holidays booked yet ?

As you get older Business Class becomes more than a luxury. We cut down a bit on number of holidays to make sure we always go Business. It really makes a difference. As for holidays not going anywhere this year but just putting the final touches to a world cruise in January 2014

Nothing booked as yet but me and Mrs Monkey are using our holidays to visit friends this year. Luckily or us they live in one amazing places. So we are off o Iceland to see my mate Kristjan and Bangkok to see our friend Ross.

Should be good time :D :D

Got 2 weeks in france in July with the Z, a nice cottage with a pool. Some sightseeing, some fantastic local cuisine and some R&R by the pool.Gotta love a roadtrip. Nothing else planned yet,but I am finishing my motorbike resto/upgrade,so a blast round a few Alps in June may be slotted in,already have the passout for this If I want to do it. Planning to take my bike ( 1986 BMW dakar replica) into Morocco in 2014 ,but October 2013 could be done If I can scrape the cash for it. I have an itch to ride a few dunes and some of the Paris-Dakar pistes and ride off road for 14 days. Got a house extension going on this spring so cash a bit tight for jollies.

Orlando or New York please!!!!

Went to Orlando in Sept but flew Virgin Upper Class. Can't afford to go this year ...cost of the flight upgrades alone would've paid for another holiday! Stupid I am!!!

I would rather pay for a better destination, than for the best seats on the bus ....

I take it then that you do not rate Orlando or New York....thats fair enough, as its a personal choice, but that upper class experience really is something to experience, it is the best way to fly...better than being stuck in cattle (like I usually am).

Also take it you dont drive an expensive car then, cos why pay for an expensive car when a cheap one will get you to your destination also? :poke:

Actually I love Florida, I was not saying about those destinations in particular, I would just rather spend the extra money on the destination, where I will be for days, rather than a wider seat for a few hours.. and at the end of the day it is still a bus, no matter how you tart it up.....

True, but for us the holiday starts when we leave home. We have a DVC, so get to stay in 5 star Disney resorts, so don't need the money for accommodation. Used to stay at Gatwick Travelodge, but last few times stayed in the Gatwick Hilton - much less hassle in the morning as you can walk to the terminal.

Its those little things that add up for us to make it a better time. No, they aren't necessary, but make the experience nicer.

The extra room in Upper Class makes the cabin feel much more err...bigger! The Orlando Virgin flights only have about 14 upper class seats, right at the front of the plane, whereas I think the other routes (NYC etc) have loads, so not as much free room in the cabin. The Upper Class experience is full of "little touches" that all adds up.

Some people say why stay in a nice hotel/resort when you don't spend much time in it (Orlando at least) but for us, having done the s**t hotels where we were worried that the room would be crap before arrival, going DVC means we are guaranteed a high standard, no matter which resort we choose.

Basically, you can do the same holiday as us for a lot less money...meaning you could do more than 1 holiday, whereas I blow the budget on 1 trip!

You are right about spending the money on something that will last longer, cant fault that - thats called getting value for money....something I'm crap at.

DVC?

DVC=Disney Vacation Club.

Similar to a "timeshare" scheme, but much, much, much more flexible - can book any time of year, not restricted to specific dates etc, can have different size accommodation depending on needs for that trip, and although its not cheap, its much cheaper than paying normal "disney" rates.

Has benefits of normal timeshare, in that we are not restricted to just Disney...can go anywhere in world.

Should be booking 2 weeks in Morocco Agadir before the end of the month. Looking to go first 2 weeks in July as my partner is a school teacher and after that prices start to shoot up.
