Orlando or New York please!!!!

Went to Orlando in Sept but flew Virgin Upper Class. Can't afford to go this year ...cost of the flight upgrades alone would've paid for another holiday! Stupid I am!!!

I would rather pay for a better destination, than for the best seats on the bus ....

I take it then that you do not rate Orlando or New York....thats fair enough, as its a personal choice, but that upper class experience really is something to experience, it is the best way to fly...better than being stuck in cattle (like I usually am).

Also take it you dont drive an expensive car then, cos why pay for an expensive car when a cheap one will get you to your destination also? :poke:

I agree!

As I get older I realise that paying that bit extra to get better seats/service/rooms is usually worth it - We are only on this planet for a very brief look around. Make the most of it!

I'm booking Commodore class on the ferry this year!

Hopefully one week Canries cruise at Easter and then a 3 week cruise somewhere hot in the summer.

Will bne booking with Co-Op Travel as usual. They not only match (or sometimes beat) on line quotes, but you get card points as well. £50 of C-Op vouchers came in very handy for Xmas drinks. :D

i wouldnt mind paying a bit more for a first class expereince but when it costs 2k more for this as opposed to my £800 cattle class ticket, i have to be sensible :(

+£2k would make me more sensible as well! - Thats another couple of holidays!

Its normaly good on the ferries - a quiet lounge etc with no screaming kids.

brrrrr, if i wanted a cold holiday, i would stay in the uk

+1

Promise you both go on a skiing hol and they'll be no turning back. I've travelled pretty extensively around the world but still always rate ski hols as the best ever for a number of reasons: the sunny weather (often), the breathtaking scenery, the atmosphere, being able to ski, the adrenalin rush, a vin chaud at an alpine bar mid slope, the food...I can't recommend them more.

I always meant to do it but age has crept up on me :(

True....our cattle class tickets were about £500 each. The Upper Class upgrade was another £1500 each on-top of that! So, instead of being about £1000 total, it was £4000!

There is no denying that it is a waste of money, and never worth it in monetry terms, but the experience is out of this world, right from arriving at the airport to leaving the other end. The cost is prohibitive for "normal" people...which is why I will never be doing it again......

And yes, the thought now grinds that had we not done the upgrade, we could afford a whole other holiday, but I am a snob, so wanted to try it.

I am glad we did it, and would recommend it if you ever get the opportunity, but most people are more sensible with their money than I am.
