Got wood

Popped into Motorworld in Cologne with the nephew on the way back from the Nurburgring and spotted this wooden mockup of the Mercedes SL300 Gullwing. Must have taken ages to craft!

I remember the half-scale wooden mockups being created for some of the Sellafield facilities we designed back in the day and how long they took to make. Real craftsman stuff!

Still a thing of beauty in metal or wood No doubt made by men with pipes and blue colored shirts whose skill made them god level in their in their own work place but was just seen as another 'working class' job.

Not that I've a chip on my shoulder but craft skills are still undervalued and under paid .... I could go on.
