The 'girls car' thing is always jealousy. A two seater sports car is a 'selfish' non-practical personal statement. Most people who have any interest in cars would like one but either the cost/impracticality prevent them doing so.
Girl's tend to own the smaller engined sports cars, so plenty of MX5s are owned by girls which doesn't stop them being fine cars. The same reason you will find less female owners of TVRs Z4Ms etc. Some noteable exceptions on here of course

I've got a pic of my beloved (Zed I mean, not the missus ) as my work computer wallpaper and get asked alot "is that your car?" by the clients. When I say yes I always get "I'm paying you too much" look :rofl:
