Got some new brakes!

So, I got up at silly o'clock (3:10), and drove to Edinburgh (700 mile round trip)

Got a set of 3.0si calipers with carriers. And a pair of MTEC drilled and slotted discs. Oh and some EBC red stuff pads. £80!

Used 3/4 of a tank of fuel (used the daily). Scotland was kinda enough to give me a wee dram with the A701. Epic fun. I love Scotland and cannot recommend it enough.

They wouldn't be a bargain, it would have been theft for £80.

An hour or two in a hot bucket of citric acid and some caliper paint will transform them. Can't do it all in one day

Go to Scotland. I'm sure @B21 can recommend some roads/areas (as can others, no doubt). But I'll recommend Oldshoremore. Take a tent, take a few days. Some amazing roads up there. Empty amazing roads.

I need to go back over the border and do the Gretna to Stranraer backroads. Many many memories

Seriously though, fair play for doing this yourself. I sent all mine off to BCS and they relieved me of about £400!

Great to read, I just picked up a pair of 3.0 Si calipers and brackets (the last being the hardest to find, don’t want to get the X3 brackets!). Going to do a little refurb on them as well.
