Got rid of the runflats

I ditched the runflats as it was like driving on solid wheels. There was also excessive noise and the car wandered across the road on uneven surfaces.
As soon as I drove out of the tyre fitting bay I could feel the difference. The short drive home felt like being on air-cushioned normal tyres, it was much quieter and the car did not wander.
My local tyre fitter supplied and fitted Uniroyal Rainsports for the same price quoted by Blackcircles, so I'm happy. I've put an E46 space saver and jack in the boot so I'm prepared for a puncture. I've sacrificed some boot space but it is worth it for the better ride.

I replaced the OEM Bridgestone runflats in April, then traded the car in September. Tires were old (2007) and well past their best-before date. Vast improvement in ride quality and performance on uneven road surfaces. The new car (2006 M6) has Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires, non runflat, and no spare in the boot. Factory tire repair kit with compressor is there but has never been used. Hope it stays that way. Ride and Grip both excellent.

David.
Just a thought about your factory tyre repair kit. My previous car was a Mazda MX5 with a repair kit and no spare. The bottle of sealant in the kit was about 5 years out of date. I don't know what your BMW kit contains. It may be worth checking for an expiry date on any sealant.

Get a Hunter Alignment done too after getting the bushes checked for any play.

Unless you've had the bushes and alignment checked or done previously.

I get one done every year due to the s**t roads here in the West of Scotland.

What effect does the jollop have on the TPMS units ?
(Unsure if they were fitted to any of the E85 range)

Heck yeah. I need to find a space saver myself.
Remember that when you put a space saver on the car, the big fat wheel and tyre has to be stowed away,

That’s a good point. It would fit. I don’t keep much in the truck. Change of clothes, my bug out bag. That’s about it

Hi
I've got run flats and they are awful, my car also feels that it's wondering across the road. I'm going to be changing mine asap. Can't wait
