Got my tekarbon angel eyes back

I’m sure you’ve all heard of this company before but I thought I would share.
As the Z was parked up over the winter I thought I would pay the small fortune to ship my lights of to the US to get the angel eyes done. Supposedly they have started using some new hardware for the job but I have no idea when this came into effect.

It took a while to get them back but pretty pleased with the results. The actual rings themselves are very clear both day and night, just need Inspection II sorting and I am ready for the summer. These are the only pictures I have so far till I can get out with the camera properly

The indicators were amber which I wanted rid of to complete the car really. Not essential but it was something I wanted to change.
This was the only way I could find which was suitable as aftermarket lights do not let you have xenons, facelift lights are not a straight forward swap and expensive. Working on them myself would be difficult and scary.
The angels eyes were an added bonus but I do really like them now.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh nice. Not heard before (Newbe!). Do tell more? price etc?

Tekarbon based in L.A I think. You send them your lights and they do the work and send them back. Was about $400 I think (can't find the product link atm)+ postage + import tax. A few people have done this before.

So rather then pleb around cutting them open you can pay a man to do this job for you
Wish i knew that 8 months ago :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

JE - you needed to read the whole thread on conversion - I added the details in there?

Its a nice solid white ring of light whatever its called

"We installed the newest version of angel eyes for your headlights, this will makes a full round circle and brighter than the previous SMD angel eyes."

Looks awesome! I wonder if they've changed glues as well. I heard some of these tend to leak. How difficult was it to remove the lights? I think I'm interested in getting these done next year.

Nice conversion and nice wheels as well, which style are they?

The wheels are 18" BMW 325m style from the E89 w/ 12mm spacer on the rear

To remove the lights is dead easy, bumper off then lights out. I would usually have a go at splitting them myself but for this i just wanted the easy option as i was able to do without my lights for about 4 weeks while they got sorted.
Black silicone used to rejoin the units seems pretty solid and if they leak they leak i will have to dry and seal them again myself.

So the real question was how much does "a small fortune" define for this to be done xD

Custom Angel eyes, Painted Matte housing, Painted Signal Strip and Express mail came to £320
for me to ship them out was £70, Import tax was also £70 :(
worth it for me

i hope these don't Fail, teckarbon have a bad Rep on the us boards for these prematurely failing...... intact interestingly theirs a thread on them right now :-) GL.... seems like a costly venture for iffy products BUT... theirs no denying , they look great with the blacked out housing and twin halo's.....

Over on another site, I shared a picture of your new Tekarbon lights. Besides the brighter LEDs, did they say anything se was new? One if the users on the other site mentioned his lights keep dying out. :-( I hope you have better luck.
