Got my Gap-Tech Working!

It's one of those jobs I keep meaning to get round to since it mysteriously stopped working but this weekend I decided to get off my a**e and get to soldering the wires that were previously connected with scotch locks... Advise I received from pretty much everyone on here. And, Hey Presto! It works.

Thing is, it may have been working before and I just wasn't doing it right since post solder I still wasn't getting any roof operation, threw a bit of a paddy and gave up all hope until my dad came round, grabbed the key and got it working first time. What kind of "black magic or evil sorcery is this?" I pondered. Turns out I just had to press the key combinations INCREDIBLY slowly.

But I ask, is this normal?? I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case previously. I know there's a steady click, stop, click speed to it but I don't remember it being click, stop, waaaiit..... click etc. (I know you know what I mean!). Basically, it just seems really really slow to the point that it's not natural, and it's kinda annoying me. And if I don't get it perfectly spot on it doesn't work, so I end up looking like a tit stood by the side of the car in the car park pressing endless combinations before getting in and going manual... It kinda defeats the object.

Should it really be that slow?

Gaptech do say it's a gap of 0.8 to 1.5 seconds between presses. Is it just a case of you not waiting that long?

Yeah I was sure that it used to be pretty straight forward but maybe I've just grown impatient. But at the moment I'm either doing it too quick or doing it too slow to over compensate. 1.5 seconds sounds about right (feels longer), I'll just count in my head for a while until I get used to it. Cheers mate

So it wasn't a problem with the keys I supplied then?

Fancy that...

But could have been easily avoided if you actually checked everything worked again before you left. You could of even shown him where he was going wrong using the Gaptech. Just a bit of good old fashioned customer service wouldn't have gone a miss.
Shoddy service, same as my experience of you, ......fancy that!
