Your Jeremy kyle mate does sound like a $hit talker :lol: also the r1 is 1000 the r6 is the 600. Maybe he put an r1 and an r6 engine in it 
I've only had a play with a mondeo st in the M which was no contest. I was behind a woman in an e46 m3 convertible with a numberplate that said porn she was doing 30 in a 40 :/ would have liked to see how it compared.

On the E46 M3 front, the cabrio is around 0.8 seconds slower 0-62 due to all the extra weight. That might explain why the zed was a match.
I've had a 3.0i zed, been in plenty of E46 M3s, and an E36 M3 - both of which were quicker than my zed.
Glad you're enjoying the 3.0i. They are quite nippy cars for the money. The linear torque curve is great.

I agree, I have owned an SMG e46 M3 (so had launch control as well as the food midrange pull) and it would kick my 3.0 Z in the cock (metaphorically speaking lol)
But, it did cost me an arm and a leg and the performance, while ballistic and in another league, wasn't as useable every day as the Z, which is pennies to run, better on fuel and a lot of fun, take is for what it is, a nice midrange sports car that is a really good all rounder and you won't be disappointed

well i s**t you not! i drive carefully but now and then we all have a play lets not be silly! otherwise id have purchased a fiesta tdci.
i cant work tonight's blast out tho, w reg 911 porker, he had full aero kit and rear wing fitted and by the sound of it an aftermarket exhaust, looked and sounded awesome.
he was driving very "enthusiastic" lets say, so i got behind him at the lights before baker street, and they are base spec "320" bhp.
he nailed it of the mark in 1st and 2nd, and before you say "he was not on it" trust me the sound of it told me he was on full chat.
to my shock i stayed glued to his arse, from the sound of his porker both me and him changed gears at exactly the same time.
pulled up to the next set of lights, he thorght it was an z4m. i stated it was a 3.0i and we were both a bit confused.
what happened? before you say he was not trying or could not drive! trust me he was full on.
how did i stick up a "320" bhp min porkers arse. i have no idea

no offense ben g, but your traction comment got to me, it was bone dry, he had a hard top and a w reg? maybe he had high mileage and it was not up to scratch but i promise you my z stayed on his crack.

another great blast i had was with a 2012 golf r, 256 bhp, white two pipes out the back etc, one passenger i was on my own, it was pretty much even, very surprised what the 3.0 can play with.
the z4m roadster must be an animal, getting tempted allready lol, and to prove i never lie on my road experiences got my arse handed to me by an slk55 it sounded like a beast
had a chat at the lights and he told me his last car was a z4m roadster then the slk55. but i will add very pleased how close i stayed to him.

another good blast this evening, Porsche cayman s, both at lights, i was on me jacks he had his bird in the car, nice striaght road infront, both launch of the lights like goose s**t through a tin horn,
he started pulling on me arse, not by much of course at about 50 he had a car length on me, then i heard him miss a gear and i went sailing past lol, he must of been pissed with his bird in it and all .
another blast with a sl350 and i left it for s**t, i checked for 4 tailpipes first of course, dont ever fu*k with sl55's they are total beasts
